February, 2003 update - The 4th member checks in!

This blustering dullard won a $3.00 item on December 16, 2002 and promptly did exactly.......nothing.

After about two weeks, I routinely started the non-payment complaint process, which causes an e-mail from eBay to be sent to the bidder.

21 days after the end of the auction ended, the eBay notice inspired him to say -

I got the reminder. I lost your e-mail address. I would like the total cost including shipping to Canada. Here is my address:

[redacted]

Please reply asap, then I can send payment.

Uh, oh.

The old "I lost your e-mail address" excuse.

Not too creative considering that it's in the listing, and even if it wasn't, the seller in every listing can be e-mailed via eBay's "ask the seller a question" feature.

Not a good sign at all.

Nonetheless, I merely replied -

For Airmail Letter Post in a padded envelope add $1.85

The rest of the payment/shipping info is in the listing

and included a link to the listing

That ought to do it, right?

Apparently not, as the next day I received this -

I believe that shipping cost is for the USA. I know the exact cost for the auction, $3.00 U.S.. I need the exact shipping cost for Canada. Everything is ready, I just haven't got the Money Order yet. Please get me an EXACT cost incuding shipping to Canada.

Let's see, the listing specifically uses the terminology "First Class" pertaining to destinations in the USA.

"Airmail Letter Post", an obviously different and some might even say Canadian-sounding terminology, has without exception been a tip-off to all Canadians with working intellects that the rate was specifically calculated for them.

But not to this clown.

Apparently because the amount happened to be the same, he assumes that I have completely missed the fact that he's in Canada, even though he included his complete address (unnecessarily) in his e-mail.

Resisting the urge to explain the obvious to him, I merely informed him that, yes, that was the rate to Canada.

He replied that the payment would be mailed the next day.

Three more weeks go by without payment.

After another e-mail from him promising payment "in a week", I decided that enough was enough and as it was over 40 days since the auction ended, I finalized the non-payment complaint with eBay.

Apparently having his status changed to "Not a registered user" got his attention, as he sent me this little gem the next day -

I said the payment would be sent on the 8th (1/8/2003), but I was not able too [sic]. I have the money order for $4.85 U.S.. The EXACT cost. I have over 20 auctions to pay off that [sic] the payment for one or two of them will be late. When you recieve [sic] the payment, I expect you to remove the Non Paying Bidder Warning you left me, SEND THE ITEM AND LEAVE ME POSITIVE FEEDBACK. If you do not:

1.Remove the Non Paying Bidder Warning you gave me
2.Send me the item
3.Leave me Positive Feedback

I will:

1.Use "ebay's Fraud Protection Program"!
2.Leave YOU Negitive [sic] Feedback!

I will never not send payment. I have not forgotten the auction. So if you do all those steps, I will NOT:

1.Use "ebay's Fraud Protection Program"
2.Leave you Negitive [sic] Feedback

Payment will be sent tomorrow.

Wow, I'm impressed.

Next thing you know, Louie the Legbuster will be on my doorstep.

Nobody has ever acted quite this stupidly before, in fact, I doubt I will ever see such a classic example of mind-numbing idiocy again.

Which called for a carefully worded response appropriate for an obviously virtual shoo-in for membership in the Hall -

You must be possessed of an extraordinary sense of entitlement to have the temerity to make demands when you are just now getting around to paying for a three dollar auction which ended 44 days ago

In any case, since you seem enamored of making your demands and threats in numbered fashion, here's a little 1-2-3 for you:

1) I routinely recind non-paying bidder complaints after I have received payment (which in your case may never happen judging by your record thusfar) for goods which are still available for sale and shipment

2) I routinely ship merchandise (assuming that it's still available for sale) on the business day following receipt of payment, which you would know if you had bothered to read my "About Me" page which is incorporated in its entirety into every auction

3) I routinely report feedback threats to eBay

Oops, what's that last one about, you say?

With regard to point 3), I refer you to eBay's delineation of "Specific Trading Offenses", including "Feedback Offenses", which may be found here:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/investigates.html#feedback

and from which I quote:

"Feedback extortion - Demanding any action of a fellow user that he or she is not required to do, at the threat of leaving negative feedback."

You have demanded that I leave you positive feedback or you will leave me negative feedback

Your ill-considered words could hardly fit eBay's definition of extortion more closely

You then rephrased and reiterated your threat by stating that if I do leave you positve feedback you won't leave me negative feedback

I guess that you didn't want to leave any doubt that you were threatening me, and you certainly succeeded in convincing me, and I'm sure eBay will be equally impressed with your precision as they arrive at the same conclusion

Of course, no eBay user is ever obligated or required in any way to leave any feedback whatsoever under any circumstances, and your threat constitutes an attempt at feedback extortion in clear violation of eBay's rules

Beyond the shoot-yourself-in-the-foot humor of your thuggish and ill-fated extortion attempt, I also find the fact that you apparently somehow actually think that you should receive positive feedback particularly laughable

But none of your delusional missteps are surprising, as it's all in keeping with the entirely likely possibility that you are now wanting to pay only because of your brand new "Not a registered user" status caused by my finalization of the non-payment complaint after your repeated tiresome excuses and broken promises

I can only conclude that the lax payment history documented in your feedback together with your current non-payment and blatant threat does not auger well for anything other than your "Not a registered user" status becoming permanent, an event which would surely represent an improvement in the average quality of eBay bidders

Should that happen, it really will be a shame because then I'll never have the opportunity to give you the negative feedback which you so richly deserve

Now, you'll have to excuse me so that I can get about the business of providing the details of your stupidity to the fine folks at eBay's trading offenses investigations department so that they may get about the business of removing a bit of garbage from their site

Which I promptly did.

Now, having just sent him an intentionally highly insulting, but wholly appropriate explication of his folly, I was expecting the usual torrent of invective, whining and attempted rationalization.

Instead, this meek little e-mail from an apparently chastised bidder arrived -

Should've read that first. But I will be sending the payment for $4.85 U.S. anyway. It will be sent today.

Amazing.

No apology for his outrageous behavior, but at least he knows when to quit.

As for sending payment, considering that he's unregistered, I've read him the riot act, and no doubt eBay has warned him about his transgressions, this time I believe him.

About a week later his payment arrives and I remove the non-payment complaint, ship his item, and a week later I get this -

So you decided to remove the Non-paying bidder warning you gave me. Thanks. I recieved [sic] the item a few days ago. I will be leaving Positive Feedback shortly and hope you with [sic] do the same for me. Thanks again! Fast shipping too!

Of course, I didn't "decide" to remove the non-payment complaint, it's automatic if you pay, as had already been explained to him.

But, the "hope you with [sic] do the same for me" statement is strong evidence that he's still deeply mired in feedback fantasyland.

He left me positive feedback, which I ignored along with his feedback-begging e-mail, but, he's relentless, and a week later says -

I have left you Positive Feedback and hope that you will do the same for me.

He's obviously not catching on, so I tried to clarify things for him -

You have to be kidding

Let's review the pertinent aspects of your behavior in this transaction -

1) You take a month and a half to pay for a $3 item

2) Prior to making your extremely late payment, you threaten me when my complaint to recover fees is the direct result of your non-payment

3) You repeatedly cause me to waste time dealing with your lame excuses, stupid questions, broken promises, non-payment and threats

Now, unbelievably, you repeat your ridiculous and incredibly brazen request for positive feedback

If anything, you are deserving of negative feedback worded in the strongest possible language

Consider yourself lucky that I think it sufficient that eBay was made aware of your behavior and tactics and that you remain one complaint away from long-term or permanent suspension

Perhaps that will disabuse this box of rocks of the idea that he either deserves or will get positive feedback.

Nope, he's even more dense than I thought -

If you are not happy about this transaction, why did you remove the Non-Paying Bidder Warning from me and why did you send me the item? I paid $4.85 U.S., the exact cost for the item and that included shipping. I also left you Positive feedback and you are still not happy? I recieved [sic] the item and I thought the transaction worked great. But, I guess not. If you are not so happy about this, why didn't you just send me the money back and not send me the item and leave my Non-Paying Bidder Warning? Look, I read the link that I you gave me about feedback offenses and now I understand. Now that I have the item and you have the money, I am happy. Fine, those feedback offenses and "ebays Fraud Protection Program" were rather stupid and don't work, but, I didn't read the feeback offenses page. Now that I have, nothing should go wrong. So, now that I have explained, will you leave me Positive Feedback or Negitive [sic] Feeback?

Funny stuff.

Don't worry, be happy!

I gave it one last shot -

Let me try to put this in terms which even a bag of hammers might be able to understand:

I sell items on eBay

I do not want to keep the items

I want people to pay for their items

Sometimes payments are extremely late

I am obligated to ship paid-for items which are still available

Even if payment is late

Even if payment is extremely late

Even if the buyer is someone who makes stupid threats

eBay charges a final value fee on all auctions which have a bid

They charge the fee when an auction ends

If someone doesn't pay, the fee will be refunded by eBay

A finalized non-payment complaint causes this refund

If an item is paid for no fee should be refunded

Payment requires that the complaint be removed

The complaint must be removed whether I like it or not

Non-payment complaints have another benefit

They alert eBay to non-paying and slow-paying bidders

Which can contribute to their eventual removal from eBay

This transaction did not "work great"

This transaction was a prime example of how idiots waste a seller's time

Your slow payment history is now on eBay's radar screen

Your threats are also now on eBay's radar screen

They are there because I put them there

Some people like to beg for positive feedback

Some people beg regardless of their outrageous behavior

You actually deserve extremely negative feedback

You seem to have realized the error of your ways

I am therefore being charitable and leaving you no feedback at all

See Dick.

See Jane.

See Spot.

See Spot run.

Hopefully, he will now understand why he promptly got his item and the complaint was promptly removed, and perhaps even why he doesn't deserve a fraudulent positive.

Actually, I felt a bit guilty about not gracing his miserable record with a scathing negative.

But, since it appears that he got the message about threats and actually did finally cough up his payment, perhaps this now slightly less clueless bidder will go forth and sin no more.

That bit of wishful thinking didn't survive for very long.

A day later, he again proves to be totally relentless and proves me wrong again -

Fine, don't leave me feedback. Actually, I do not deserve Negitive [sic] Feedback. Every seller that I have dealt with, except for two, is satisfied and is happy. They take the time to leave me feedback. I ALSO take the time to leave them feedback. You said I didn't bother reading your "About Me page". I read the ENTIRE page. I sent a NOTE with everything you needed me to send with the payment in your About Me page:

*Name and bidder ID

*AUCTION NUMBER(S)

*Payment date and amount

*How Payment was sent

SEE, I DID READ your "About Me page". I:

*READ the ENTIRE auction page

*READ the ENTIRE "About Me page"

*Sent a NOTE with the COMPLETE information: Name and bidder ID, AUCTION NUMBER, Payment date and amount, How payment was sent and the item name

*SENT the EXACT cost: $3.00 U.S. for the item, $1.85 U.S. for shipping

*READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL ABOUT FEEDBACK OFFENSES

*UNDERSTAND THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR AT LEAST 98% OF THE INFORMATION IN YOUR "ABOUT ME PAGE"

*Sent the payment

*RECIEVED [sic] THE ITEM

*Am very satisfied

*Am happy

*Left you Positive Feedback

I did all that and you are STILL complaining and are not satisfied. You:

*RECIEVED [sic] the payment

I just cannot believe you are still complaining and are not satisfied. The REASON why payment took very long and was very late is because I have OVER 20 auctions to pay off and I think I told you this. I have told every seller about this. You said in your "About Me page" that you WILL leave feeback after the bidder has left you feedback, I still have not recieved feedback from you. Just leave me Positive Feeback, then we won't have to argue about this and it will be done. I am happy and very satisfied with the item. Just leave me the Positive Feedback, then we won't have to argue about this anymore and them [sic] it will be all done. I have read about the feedback offenses, so nothing should [sic] wrong at all.

What's that they say about letting a sleeping dog lie?

I guess he never heard that one.

Although somehow I knew his response probably wouldn't be "OK, I understand, thanks for not leaving me a negative", at least he started out headed in the right general direction with his first four words "Fine, don't leave me feedback".

Unfortunately, he couldn't bear to just leave it at that, and promptly goes completely off the rails and straight into the toilet of illogic, misapprehension, and pointless drivel.

Unbelievably, after all of the brow-beating I've given him, he somehow actually still thinks that I'm complaining, that this is some sort of argument which he can win, and that we're having some sort of "discussion".

While humorous, this has dragged on for long enough, and as he's incapable of taking no, or perhaps I should say yes, for an answer, I'm just going to have to oblige him -

You mistake trying to explain the glaringly and blatantly obvious to the mentally deficient as "complaining"

Beyond the fact that you can't seem to get it through your thick skull that making a stream of excuses, followed by threats and finally payment after 7 weeks doesn't qualify one to receive positive feedback, your basic reading comprehension skills are also obviously in a sorry state

The list of information you are so fond of quoting at length refers to inquiries about payments which have been sent and may have been lost, not to initially making a payment

And, you aren't "responsible for 98%" of my "Me" page

It was an assortment of other idiots, morons and cretins just like you who were responsible, as it existed in its entirety before I had the extreme displeasure of dealing with you

But, take heart, I may have to modify it, just because of you

I may have to say something like "I always respond to feedback except if I am feeling charitable and leave no feedback at all when the bidder is a clueless fool who should have received negative feedback"

Nah

Since you apparently will not stop your incessant whining and begging for feedback, it's much simpler just to leave my "Me" page as it is and give you the feedback you deserve

You wanted feedback, and now you have feedback

Enjoy

Oh, I almost forgot, welcome to my Clueless Bidder Hall of Fame

And thus endeth the sad saga of Hall inductee number four.

Since he's such an avid, if uncomprehending, reader, he shouldn't have too much trouble finding the link to the Hall at the bottom of my "Me" page, where he can relive his glorious exploits and perhaps finally figure out where he went wrong enough to merit inclusion when only four people have managed that feat in the course of over 13,000 transactions.

Somehow, I doubt it.

Update - He just won't quit, and insists in providing us with more amusement -

My entirely factual and appropriate feedback to him -

Bid w/ no $ to pay, excuses, threats, pd@7wks, then whines for + feedback=AVOID

which summed up the essence of the transaction in about as much detail as can be crammed into the allowable 80 characters, was something he just couldn't leave alone -

Paid EXACT cost for item. NOT whining for feedback. But yes, paid late. AVOID!

As if you get extra points for actually managing to pay the exact amount, something which people who are even dumber than he is somehow routinely do.

And now anyone who has read this far also knows for a fact that he's a bald-faced liar, as his whining is well documented here.

I guess he was having trouble fleshing out his case against me, but it wouldn't appear that throwing in the "yes, paid late" reference to the fact that he's a screw-up helped.

But, I did especially like the "AVOID" he tacked onto it.

Original, isn't he?

I'm sure others will also be impressed, particularly after noting the fact that 16% of his feedback is negative.

Or should I say "negitive"?

Well, since he didn't know when to leave well enough alone, I figured it was only fair to call him on his lie, and give implicit directions to the smoking gun with a follow-up feedback -

ALL of his VOLUMINOUS whining can be read in my Clueless Bidder Hall of Fame

So now anyone who has any doubt and a little curiosity will have no trouble pulling up one of my auctions and/or my "Me" page, and then finding their way to this very page, chock-full of his incessant whining and badgering.

I guess he neglected to take into account the fact that he has only 20-odd total feedback comments, and that my comments, including the specific reference to this Hall will likely remain on his first page of feedback for a long, long time.

Of course, he couldn't confine himself to causing damage to his own feedback page, so he had to modify what he initially had to say in the way of feedback to me -

Good seller. Item (toy) is in great condition, as stated in auction. Thank you.

with a little retaliatory follow-up demonstrating his stunning originality yet again -

Paid for item, seller complained and left me Negitive [sic] Feedback.AVOID!

His lame attempt to try to impugn me required that a few facts to be added to the mix -

Made excuses, THREATS, pd@7wks, whined for + feedback, gave him what he deserved

Too bad that his obviously retaliatory whining about his negative was already off of my first page along with the original comment.

Not that it matters, as no one in their right mind would pay any attention whatsoever to anything a guy who makes threats, pays late and whines has to say, particularly in the face of 3,500 or so total positive comments.

No doubt he feels he has really struck a giant blow for the whiners and late payers of the world.

But, his silly attempts to retaliate with feedback weren't the funniest aspect of his continued impotent flailing, he had to send me two separate e-mails -

Fine. But what you could have done was not leave me feedback at all. I still paid. Just one question you STILL haven't answered: If you are complaing [sic] (you are complaining as usual of course) WHY did you SEND ME THE ITEM?

And -

I think I now understand why you have over 20 extremely Negitive [sic] Feedbacks. I think I should have left one because you truly deserve Negitive [sic] Feedback. I will include with my Positive Feedback that I left you a Follow-Up, so I can include the word "Avoid".

Hmmm.

"not leave me feedback at all"

Let's see, where have I heard that idea before?

"WHY did you SEND ME THE ITEM?"

I would have sworn that I explained that in some degree of excruciatingly simple detail.

Well, good sense tells me to ignore this rocket scientist, but he's simply too ripe a target, so I'll have one last bit of fun with him -

You're not very bright, are you?

Not listening when your mother told you that huffing paint and glue causes severe brain damage might explain your behavior

Or, then again, perhaps it's just due to pure, unadultered, mind-numbing stupidity

In any case, although I realize that I'm wasting time trying to make exceedingly simple points to someone with the cognitive ability of a concrete block, I'll give it one last try

>what you could have done was not leave me feedback at all

Perhaps the disaster area you call your mind will recall my statement:

"I am therefore being charitable and leaving you no feedback at all"

You had your chance, but being an idiot were too stupid to leave well enough alone and continued whining for feedback

>WHY did you SEND ME THE ITEM?

Apparently these statements of mine went in one ear and out the other without hitting anything, so I'll repeat them:

"I am obligated to ship paid-for items which are still available"
"Even if payment is late"
"Even if payment is extremely late"
"Even if the buyer is someone who makes stupid threats"

While there are many more ridiculous statements in your last two e-mails, I suspect that further commentary is useless except to congratulate you on learning how to use the word "AVOID" in a sentence

Next time, you might try to remember that those of us with many thousands of positive feedback comments care not a whit when some pea-brained whiner or deadbeat or other obvious ignoramus leaves a retaliatory negative or follow-up

Neither does anyone whom I would care to have bidding on my auctions

Now, this matter is closed, all possible feedback has been left, and I have explained the obvious to the dull for the last time

Should you be so stupid as to ever bother me with your vapid drivel via e-mail again, I will consider it to be harassment, and I shall instantly forward the entire e-mail history of this transaction to eBay for their review and action

Think that'll put an end to his lunacy?

We'll see.

Final update - He blathers on for the last time -

Silly me, expecting him to take any heed of a warning.

In one giant paragraph, he recites trivia and then goes meandering off the rhetorical deep end -

Ok, I think were [sic] done arguing [sic] now. I got my Negative Feedback and you got your Positive Feedback. The auction is complete, I sent the payment, you recieved [sic] it, you shipped my item and I recieved [sic] it. I'm happy. I won't e-mail you and waist [sic] your time. I appoligize [sic]. Yes, this might be the same type of response you get all the time, but, let's just end it here. No arguing or anything, were [sic] done. I guess I must say this....."You are a great seller, you deserve Positive feedback, you got it and.....I can't say this but.....you are #2 on my list. Thanks for the item. Again you are....."The perfect seller". Thanks again. I can't really say much, you are just a great seller and you got what you deserved, Positive Feedback. I got what [sic] deseved [sic], Negitive [sic]Feedback. Next time, I will remember to check everything in the auction page. E-mail address, shipping information and others. Now I said this before in previous e-mails that I looked at the link you gave me about Feedback Offenses, I will read it some more, so if thei

And there in mid-word it suddenly ends, with what probably would have been the misuse of "their" for "there".

But, let's give him credit for somehow managing to spell "negative" correctly once in nine tries.

In any case, his thought processes are so messy and dysfunctional that it's hard to tell whether he's attempting to be sarcastic or serious.

No matter.

The incoherent rambling lends a certain comic air to his writing, but he's not worth any further time, nor will I put the eBay people to the impossible task of trying to carry on a rational discussion with him.

I've done my feedback duty and the public has been warned.

It's obvious that this dolt will never, ever be convinced by anyone or anything that taking months to pay for auction wins isn't acceptable.

Never mind whether or not you make threats along the way and regardless of whether or not you whine like a five year-old for feedback you don't deserve.

It's only a matter of time before he destroys his right to bid.

For the sake of sellers everywhere, I hope it's sooner rather than later.

March, 2003 update - Member number 5 makes herself known

I don't know what it is about people who like to make threats, but they've been coming out of the woodwork lately.

This one started out just fine with a prompt payment for her item.

After a couple of weeks, she started asking about her package, which is perfectly reasonable, and was told that packages sometimes show up after long delays and that she also might try checking with her local post office.

I said that because for unknown reasons, and it's happened more than once, errant packages have been found sitting around the local postal branch.

At about three weeks she asked again, and was told much the same thing, but that in any case no trace could be attempted until 30 days had gone by.

And then she started her downward spiral into the Hall.

A few days later I got a two word e-mail -

Got it

Great!

Missing package problem solved.

Which caused me to delete all of the e-mail traffic to that point, which is why I can only summarize the previous e-mails.

Case closed, so I didn't respond to the "got it".

But then I got this out of the clear blue sky a few days later -

Well, let's see....From the email history, I show that I paid for the yarn on January 16th. On January 28th, I checked with you because I hadn't received it. That was 12 days later. On February 3rd, 6 more days later, I sent you another email. I read your response to be rude. Rudeness was unnecessary. My "got it" was sarcastic. It was not confirmation the package arrived. You were mistaken. In addition, I use Shooting Star to track my auctions. The day packages arrive, I send a formal email thru Shooting star identifying receipt, date of receipt, and feedback intentions. Did you get one of those? Any other questions?

Uh, oh.

She's one of those all-in-one paragraph types, which is never a good sign.

And a smart-ass to boot.

So, I guess she needs a little straightening out and a bit more information -

>I read your response to be rude

Lighten up, there was nothing rude about it, I simply gave you some factual information

>My "got it" was sarcastic

Try skipping the needless sarcasm next time, it accomplishes nothing, particularly when the recipient of it has no reason to know you're being sarcastic and every reason to take your statement literally

>You were mistaken

I have been mistaken about many things, but thusfar in this matter I have been mistaken about absolutely nothing

>...Shooting Star...

Why on earth would I possibly think that I would be getting any sort of notice from "Shooting Star" or anyone else?

>Did you get one of those? Any other questions?

Not getting a notice I never expected to get has nothing to do with whether the USPS has lost your box, unlike a direct statement from you that you "got it", and your "questions" are just more pointless sarcasm

Now, here's some more factual information for you:

If your address was somehow obliterated, the box would have been returned to me, which hasn't happened

This was a LARGE box and not something that could somehow fall into some nook or cranny and be "lost", so virtually the only hope that it can be "traced" by the USPS is if both your address and my return address became unreadable, and it is sitting in a "dead letter" office somewhere in the USPS system

I will complete the USPS "trace" paperwork, but, as I said, they have never found a package the few previous times "tracing" has been tried

I initiated the USPS trace request the next day as the package had been missing in action for 30 days.

The box obviously hasn't yet been found by the USPS, as about a month later, I got this gem -

I still have not received this item. My only recourse is to leave negative feedback is [sic] you are unwilling to issue a replacement or a refund. Please answer within 24 hours.

And, about 30 minutes later -

I have attempted to work out the non-receipt of the item purchased with absolutely no cooperation or help from you. In light of the fact that more than sufficient time has elapsed since I paid you for the wool, and you refuse to be couteous [sic], much less helpfull [sic], I am filing a complaint with PayPal on your account.

My, my, she's lost it.

I guess carefully responding to her inquiries and initiating a trace qualifies as "absolutely no cooperation or help."

Another liar.

Ho, hum, nothing new about that.

More importantly, the observant reader will have noted that there has been absolutely no discussion of USPS insurance to this point.

There is, of course, a very good reason for that.

She didn't buy any.

She has never claimed that she did.

Yet she wants to "work out" the loss of her package.

I guess her idea of working something out is to demand something she's not entitled to.

Not to mention filing a malicious complaint with PayPal.

Which she stupidly did.

Now, her initial problem is that PayPal has a 30 day time limit on complaints, so that's not going anywhere, and PayPal promptly said exactly that.

Then, of course, there's the little matter of her even more stupid feedback threat.

So, since she thinks having an answer within 24 hours is important, I made it a point to do exactly that.

Immediately after I filed my detailed complaints about her with both eBay and PayPal -

Do you know what this is?

>My only recourse is to leave negative feedback i[f]
>you are unwilling to issue a replacement or a refund

I know that trying to understand this might tax your apparently thuggish mentality, but your statement was a specific trading offense, namely a feedback offense which is called feedback extortion

The words "feedback extortion" are eBay's words, not mine

Look it up

I did many years ago when another lame extortionist tried to do exactly what you just attempted to do

At this link:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/investigates.html#feedback

you will find the following sentence:

"Feedback extortion - Demanding any action of a fellow user that he or she is not required to do, at the threat of leaving negative feedback."

You'll be pleased to know that evidence of your attempt at feedback extortion, along with the other evidence of your perfidy, have been provided to eBay in the form of a complaint by me

Do these words sound familiar?

"Insured mail is available and recommended. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail"

They should

They're your own words from your listing for item #2309827689

Perhaps you would like to explain why you, while

  1) knowing full well how USPS insurance works, and

  2) knowing full well that disclaimed shipping risk isn't the responsibility of the seller, and

  3) having bound yourself with the explicit terms of my listing regarding your assumption of shipping risk, and

  4) knowing full well that you didn't request or pay for USPS insurance,

would try to extort "a replacement or a refund" from me

Have fun trying to explain your despicable actions to eBay

Also, as I refuse to let lying jerks and clods besmirtch my reputation, your attempt to smear me with PayPal (a division of eBay) has also been responded to in detail

I wish you luck should you ever need PayPal to take you seriously in the future, as you might need it

Next time, instead of acting like a whining cheapskate, you might try following your own advice and buy USPS insurance

It's much less embarrassing than lying and extorting, and doesn't usually have repercussions which might affect your status as a registered user of eBay or your ability to maintain a PayPal account

And thus an idiot steps in it bigtime while trying to bully me into giving her something she's not entitled to.

The fact that she also hangs herself with her own words about insurance was just icing on the cake, as the facts of the transaction speak clearly for themselves.

And I welcome a lying dolt to membership in the Hall.

It remains to be seen whether I hear further from this poster-child for the ethically challenged.

Final update

Not a peep out of her for months.

Maybe her lost package finally showed up.
